What are the benefits are enrolling staff onto an antiracism train the trainer course?

  • Save costs on training delivery as training can be delivered in-house as a refresher and to new employees beyond initial cohorts.

  • Improve the culture of the organisation as people learn how to take a person-centred approach to difficulties.

  • There is more flexibility to fit in training in-house.

  • Improve the chances of higher staff retention and recruitment levels of ethnic minorities and those who care about discrimination

  • Develop methods to take care of ethnic minorities’ wellbeing when faced with racist incidents.

  • Reduce the occurrence of racist incidents as more people are clear on what constitutes racism beyond the obvious.

  • Improve racial literacy, so more employees feel confident to speak about and deal with issues concerning race and racism.

  • Develop trustworthiness amongst all staff and especially marginalised people. One of the biggest issues faced in employing and retaining ethnic minority staff is a lack of trust as they are used to being on the receiving end of a tick-box activity. Training staff to become anti-racism trainers in the workplace demonstrates a commitment to antiracism.
